Technical Assistance:

Technical assistance provided regarding the need to clearly identify date of hire to the Virginia program for personnel shared with the North Carolina office and ensure this date is consistent in all locations within the personnel file. Technical assistance provided regarding the need to document completion of initial orientation and training for personnel in a format that explains which orientation topic has been completed and allows for compliance to be assessed.

Comments:

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on October 16, 2019 from 10:00 AM - 3:05 PM. ABC Adoption reports a total of 26 adoptive families. There are no children in post-placement supervision due to interlocutory orders. During this inspection, records were reviewed for ten providers, six personnel, and four board officers. One personnel interview occurred. The agency?s program evaluation documentation for the last inspection period was reviewed. The agency reports there were no changes to the agency?s policy and procedures. An exit interview was conducted on October 16, 2019 at the conclusion of the inspection with the Executive Director (by phone) and Family Services Supervisor to review preliminary inspection findings. An acknowledgement form was signed. There were no violations. The licensee has five (5) calendar days from receipt of the inspection documentation to sign each page of the documentation and return it to the Licensing Office. The licensee should retain a copy to be posted at the facility. Results of the inspection documentation are subject to public disclosure and will be posted on the VDSS web site within 5 days.
