An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on November 7, 2019 from approximately 9:35 am to 3:15 pm at Bethany Christian Services located in Richmond, Virginia. The agency reports 21 families approved and waiting for placements and 10 adoptive families with placements. The administrative assistant and branch director were available for the inspection. The branch director participated in the exit interview, which commenced on 11/7/19 at approximately 3:00 pm. During this inspection, four adoptive home records, one birth parent, one child record and two personnel records were reviewed. The background checks for the three corporate board officers were reviewed during an inspection at the Fredericksburg location of Bethany Family Services on October 23, 2019 and are in compliance. The personnel record for the branch director was also reviewed on October 23rd at the Fredericksburg office. There were no citations for violation of Standards for Child Placing Agencies.
