Food Assistance Services

If you and your family are facing food insecurity due to changes in SNAP eligibility or other circumstances, food banks, food pantries and community organizations can provide assistance.

  • Our agency’s Food Assistance page serves as the primary hub for connecting individuals and families with programs that make healthy meals more affordable and accessible.
  • Federation of Virginia Food Banks connects individuals and families with nutritious food through a network of more than 2,000 neighborhood pantries and distribution sites across the Commonwealth.
  • Feedmore.org collects, prepares and distributes food to 34 counties and cities across Central Virginia.
  • Virginia Fresh Match is a network of farmers markets, mobile markets, farm stores, and community food stores that double SNAP/EBT food assistance on fruits and vegetables.
  • Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious meals and wellness checks to older adults and individuals with limited mobility, helping them remain healthy and independent at home.
  • Free Formula Exchange connects families in need of infant formula with verified donors through a community‑supported exchange network.
  • Women, Infants & Children (WIC) provides nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and support, supplemental nutritious foods, counseling at WIC clinics, and screening and referrals to other health, welfare and social services.
